The Chevrolet Corvette Base for 1994: Improving on 1993
The Chevrolet Corvette is a 2-door car available at your Chevrolet dealer. The Corvette came in two configurations: Base and ZR-1. The Base configuration is powered by the 5.7-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 24 - 27 highway miles and 17 city. The Corvette competes in the Convertible market segment, in direct competition with Hyundai.
Chevrolet Corvette Engine Specs: The Corvette Base comes outfitted with a Chevrolet 5.7 liter, 8-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by General Motors, is mated to a four-speed transmission by General Motors. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chevrolet.
The fuel system for the 1994 Corvette is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 20.00 gallons.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Corvette comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses leaf front springs and leaf in the rear.
The Corvette is 178.50 inches long, 70.70 inches wide, and 46.30 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 96.20 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.
The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $36,285 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-high price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Convertible.
The 1994 Corvette gets 24 - 27 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 in the city. This is subpar for a convertible car.
In 1993 and 1994 the Corvette Base was availble in the exterior colors of several colors. Additional options were available as special orders from the factory.
The standard warranty period for the Corvette is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the convertible market.
There are several reasons why the Chevrolet Corvette Base sold well in 1994. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Chevrolet, specifically a Corvette.
